An opportunity to counter bias with truth

An organization that was set up to fight against black genocide has sought to spread its message – and an opportunity came from an unexpected source.

Clenard Childress, who pastors New Calvary Baptist Church in Montclair, New Jersey, is a spokesman for L.E.A.R.N. (the Life Education and Resource Network). He was interviewed recently for PBS's "Frontline" on black genocide through abortion – a first for the network.

"But I also recognized the fact that when they did come to get footage that there was a bias," the pastor tells OneNewsNow. "And certainly I believe they were looking for flaws or looking for reasons to discredit the African-American pro-life movement."

Even though he sensed the network's pro-abortion bias, Childress contends those conducting the interview were as fair as they could be.

"[But] I think unquestionably there was a strong bias to support the pro-choice position – and they did have pro-choice people speaking," he notes. "But if you juxtapose that against our truth – and hopefully men and women will do a little searching on their own – they can see there is no defense for abortion."

On the positive side, the PBS program is the first national audience given to the African-American pro-life movement. Another pro-life organization – Life Dynamics – has produced a video documentary which proves the most dangerous place for blacks is in the womb.
