Kingdom prayers

"What difference did it make that I prayed today? And what difference did what I prayed for make? Did it make a difference at all?"

I'm glad you asked.

Your prayers made and make all the difference in the world because you prayed, specifically because you prayed certain Kingdom kind of prayers (like The Lord's Prayer, Isaiah's prayer in Isaiah 6:8, the Prayer of Jabez, Solomon's prayer for wisdom, Paul's prayer in Acts 9:6, etc.).

These kinds of things will often will happen. God will put you on the hearts of people who may not otherwise have you on their mind. People may seek you out specifically to ask you for prayer or wisdom. A unique opportunity for ministry just drops into your lap "out of the blue." Opportunities to minister to and bless people come up regularly. These and other miraculous things will happen because you asked. Not only is God willing to answer these kinds of prayers, but He is looking for disciples who will pray this way daily. And He will use them to do miraculous things!

Here are eight prayers that come straight from the Word of God or that are based on the Word of God. I would encourage and challenge you to pray them daily. As you do, God will use you more and more to be a greater blessing to the world – because you asked Him to.

1.) The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-15):

"Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
For if I forgive men their trespasses,
You will also forgive me.
But if I do not forgive men their trespasses,
neither will You forgive my trespasses."

2.) The Prayer of Jabez (I Chronicles 4:10):

“Lord, bless me indeed.
Expand my territory,
Place Your hand anew upon me,
And keep me from evil,
That I may not cause pain.”

3.) The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17):

“Lord, thank You for this day.
Help me this day to put You first in every way and in all that I do.
Help me, Lord, to not make or have any graven images.
Help me Lord, to not take Your Name in vain.
Help me, Father, to remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy.
Lord, help me this day to honor my father and mother.
Lord, help me this day to not murder.
Help me to not commit adultery.
Help me to not steal.
Help me, Lord, to tell the truth.
Help me, Lord, to not covet.
Thank You for hearing my prayer.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

4.) A daily prayer for wisdom (I Kings 3:4–15):

“Thank You, Lord, for this day.
Lord, on this day, give me wisdom to be the (husband, wife, dad, mom, boss, employee, etc.)  that You want me to be.
Help and guide me by Your Holy Spirit to do and be the best I can do or be.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

5.) A prayer of availability (Isaiah 6:8):

“Here I am, Lord. I am available. Send me this day to do Your will! Use me to do many miracles this day for Your glory!”

6.) Another prayer of availability (Acts 9:6):

 “Here I am, Lord. What will You have me to do this day? In Jesus’s Name, Amen.”

7.) A prayer for guidance and discernment (II Chronicles 20:12):

“Lord, we don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on You.
Deliver us from this present evil and from the evil one.
In Jesus’s Name, Amen."

8.) A prayer for protection (Psalm 91):

“Today, I dwell in the secret place of the Most High,
and so I abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
Today I say of the LORD,
You are my refuge and my fortress; my God, in You I trust.
Surely You deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the noisome pestilence.
You cover me with Your feathers, and under Your wings I trust;
Your truth is my shield and buckler.
And so, I am not afraid for the terror by night,
Nor for the arrow that flies by day,
Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor for the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at my side,
and ten thousand at my right hand;
but it shall not come near me.
Only with my eyes do I look
and see the reward of the wicked.

Because I have made the LORD my refuge,
Even the Most High, my habitation,
No evil befalls me,
Nor does any plague come nigh my dwelling;
For He gives his angels charge over me,
To keep me in all my ways.
They bear me up in their hands,
Lest I dash my foot against a stone.
I tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent I trample under foot.

Because I have set my love upon Him, therefore He delivers me;
He sets me on high, because I have known His name.
I call upon Him, and He answers me;
He is with me in trouble;
He delivers me and honors me.
With long life He satisfies me,
And shows me His salvation.”
